With the right wedding venue and weather, getting married outside adds an element of natural beauty to the ceremony that wouldn’t be possible indoors. Even The Beach Boys would agree that Chevy “409” sitting there real cool like near Gervasi Lake is, well, fine. But wait; is that a ‘32 Coupe next to the Tuscan Pavilion? And over there, by the vineyard, that has to be the most perfect looking ‘62 Ferrari GTO you’ve ever seen.
Classic car sightings like these and hundreds more are all possible this summer at Gervasi Vineyard’s ongoing weekly car Cruise-Ins held Wednesdays at the vineyard from 5-8pm, May through September.
If you are new to the winery tasting experience, here are a few suggestions for your venture. First, taste wine with friends. It will be more fun with comrades in the exploration. In the tasting room, the staff will enjoy sharing about their wines. So ask about the vineyards and how the wines are made. Plan for food around your tastings. It enriches the experience, moderates the alcohol and nurtures responsible tasting. Winery staff and restaurant servers will gladly recommend a food and wine pairing for you. (more…)
With the construction for the Gervasi distillery and boutique hotel underway, GV Destinations has released the name, renderings and logos for the two new buildings that will reside on the south end of the 55-acre estate.
The distillery is cleverly named “The Still House at Gervasi Vineyard”. A still is an apparatus used to distill liquid mixtures by heating to selectively boil and then cooling to condense the vapor. (more…)
