This holiday season, Gervasi Vineyard is adding excitement and joy to celebrations with family, friends, and co-workers. Each week leading up to Christmas, we’ll share a new idea for experiencing Gervasi with your loved ones.
Bringing family and friends together is the true meaning of the holiday season, and creating memories is at the top of everyone’s list. Gervasi Vineyard offers many memory-making activities, including three that have become holiday traditions on the estate.
Gervasi Vineyard is the perfect place to bring visiting friends and relatives for brunch, lunch or dinner. Visit Gervasi’s restaurants for housemade cuisine, an after-dinner drink crafted with Gervasi Spirits, or a glass of Gervasi wine. Shop The Marketplace boutique gift shop for holiday gifts, or walk the brick paths and take in the festive decorations across the sprawling 55-acre estate.
“Gervasi is dressed for the season in old-world, Tuscan style décor. Starting at the arch entrance, visitors will feel like they are entering a winter wonderland through a tunnel of lighted trees,” said Scott Swaldo, General Manager for Gervasi Vineyard. “All of the restaurants are decorated thematically for the holidays. The Bistro, Gervasi’s cornerstone Italian restaurant, is the most elaborate with a beautifully decorated 12-foot-tall tree staged to greet guests upon entering. The entire restaurant is decked out with charming ornaments and greenery.”
Holiday favorites at the destination winery resort include having a Holiday Lunch with the Grinch in The Bistro, taking a Horse Drawn Carriage Ride through the gorgeous, snow covered estate and listening to Vintage Carolers sing classic holiday songs.
“This is the season of tradition and coming together with friends and family,” said Swaldo. “Our December events are such that visitors can connect to vintage times while also making new traditions and memories of their own.”
Holiday Lunch with the Grinch
Saturday, December 5, 12 and 19 from 11 am – 3 pm
Enjoy family togetherness in The Bistro Saturdays in December for Holiday Lunch with the Grinch! Experience a new holiday tradition with your children as you enjoy a delightful holiday meal and meet the Grinch face to face. Don’t worry – This Grinch is not the mean one. He’s the one whose heart has grown three sizes, and he’ll be bringing holiday cheer to little ones as he greets guests tableside for photos. Reservations for this fun-filled holiday lunch are highly recommended. You can make reservations online, or call (330) 497-1000 option 2. (Note: due to COVID guidelines and restrictions, all visits with the Grinch will be non-contact.)
“We have had a terrific response to our introduction of the Grinch this year. The family Bistro lunch and all of the December events immediately became traditions for our families from the first year we offered them,” Swaldo said.
When the family finishes their lunch with the Grinch, enjoy taking a drive to the south side of the estate to see the Grinch themed decorations both outside and inside The Crush House Wine Bar & Eatery.
Horse Drawn Carriage Rides
Fridays and Saturdays, December 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19 from 5-8 pm
Fall in love with the magnificent white carriages and the white Percheron draft horses in a Horse Drawn Carriage Ride on the beautiful snow-covered Gervasi estate. Bring your own blanket and snuggle up with your special someone as you enjoy a romantic ride in a vintage white carriage. Be prepared to take lots of photos and have a grand time before or after your dinner at The Bistro or The Crush House.
No reservations are needed. Rides are available on a first-come, first-served basis for Gervasi guests. The cost is $10 per person, for up to six people in each carriage. Rides are set to begin outside The Bistro and will run in the evenings from 6-8 p.m. lasting approximately 10 minutes. (Note: rides may end earlier if the horses are fatigued. Weather permitting.)
“This is one of the most popular things we offer on the estate for the holidays,” said Swaldo. “It is so romantic and really allows our guests a chance to experience a winter wonderland!”
Vintage Carolers
Fridays and Saturdays, December 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19 from 7-9 pm
Gervasi Vineyard will feature special performances of Vintage Carolers singing longtime traditional and holiday favorite songs outside of The Bistro and The Marketplace gift shop on select Fridays and Saturdays in December. (Weather permitting.)
“We have had the same group of vintage carolers come and sing for our guests for the past decade. Everyone loves to stop and listen, and maybe feel transported to another time,” said Swaldo.
Take time out to create unforgettable memories this holiday season. Visiting Gervasi Vineyard is a “must do” item on your holiday bucket list. From amazing housemade cuisine, award-winning wines and unique spirits to shopping, luxury overnight accommodations, gorgeous grounds and décor … It’s enough to make even the Grinch himself smile.
