Many wine experts have researched and written about why people are interested in or obsessed with wine, offering several reasons for this phenomenon. The mix of sensory, cultural, psychological, and social aspects contributes to their love, interest, and obsession with wine.
One of the common answers to the wine obsession question is that people enjoy learning and talking about identifying grape varieties, regions, vintages, discussing the conditions of the landscape, and the winemaking decisions that go into the production process.
Ask any wine enthusiast if they would enjoy learning about all of those components that go into understanding and selecting good wines, and they will more than likely say yes!
Gervasi Vineyard Resort & Spa loves to help people carry on their wine obsessions by offering them the option and opportunity to become a wine certified expert.
Last year, Gervasi offered the WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Level 1 course and certification. It was a great success!
Starting September 1, 2026, Gervasi will be hosting the American Wine School for classes for the WSET Level 2 Certification at the next Wine Camp. It is already looking like it will be another successful course!
