Summer on the Piazza
From concerts and live music to wine pairings and spirit tastings, Gervasi Vineyard offers a little something for everyone looking to getaway and make summer memories. GV’s calendar of events and happenings, enhanced by world-class food and award-winning wines and spirits, make it easy to relax, enjoy and celebrate summer life.
Start by relaxing on The Piazza patio which is made for casual outdoor dining and enjoy fresh local cuisine along with our house made wines, wine slushies, and signature cocktails. Lawn games like bocce, yoga classes and nightly live entertainment make Gervasi Vineyard the perfect place to be to enjoy the great outdoors. Dogs are welcome every Tuesday for Pups on The Piazza, so bring your furry friends so they too can relax in the summer weather with their favorite companions.
The Piazza features seasonal outdoor full-service dining for lunch and dinner with stunning views of Gervasi’s property. Guests will find oversized umbrellas, lounge seating, a sit-down bar and a covered band stage.
A walk-up carryout window is also available for those who want to bring a blanket and enjoy your meal on the lawn with a bottle of wine or a pitcher of our Piazza Sangria. It’s a must do to take some time to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding landscape by relaxing in one of GVs Adirondack chairs with a refreshing beverage of your choice.
It’s All About Atmosphere at the Piazza
“When I look at the Piazza, there is one thing that makes it stand out compared to other venues in the area and that is the atmosphere,” said Lucas Blackerby, support manager at the Piazza. “The lake, the big shady umbrellas and the live music we have every night on a secluded property make the evening extra special. There are very few places in this area where you can enjoy a high-quality meal with a view and atmosphere that the Piazza offers. Of course, we pride ourselves with good food, wine and service but the atmosphere is our claim to fame in my opinion.”
Just a few of the customers favorites include the kabob platter and the pizza, which is by far the most popular item. GV’s pizzas are thin crust and personal size. Many customers add a salad and many share with a friend.
Favorite wines include the Abbraccio (Cabernet Sauvignon) and the Fioretto (Sauvignon Blanc). Blackerby said those two wines “are always being poured in the well.”
Favorite cocktails from the Piazza that are “summery” include the GV Colada that guests love to enjoy on a hot day. And, of course GV’s signature sangria is the best!
There is a wide variety of musicians who play on the Piazza. It is a very eclectic group that ranges from classic rock, doo-wop and even saxophone soloists.
“Most of our Musicians are local but we have a hand full who travel from areas like Columbus and Cleveland. The majority of them have performed on the Piazza (and other GV venues) for several summers however we love to try something new every year,” Blackerby said.
He added, “Friday lunch is back! The last two years we have not been open for lunch on Fridays, but we have brought that back this year. The Piazza is a first come first serve venue, but we offer three event tables (eight guests each) that can be prebooked online through our website. We have a new pizza this year, The Don Vito, that is killer as well as some new Spritzer’s featuring our liqueurs made here on property. Come out and give them a try!”
The Still House is another great option at Gervasi to enjoy the Tuscany like landscape. It offers an outdoor patio overlooking the park trail where you can enjoy signature spirits, cocktails, draft beer, wine and a delectable menu of appetizers and shareable bites.
Or, another possibility is to experience in the view of the vineyard during sunset from the balcony of The Crush House, where the winery is housed and guest can enjoy lunch, dinner and happy hour favorites.
