About The Bistro

The Bistro building itself is a marvel. When diners pull up to park in front of the centuries-old, restored barn, they are enthralled by the landscaping including lighted brick and stone walkways lined with birch and evergreen trees all leading up to the beautifully adorned front entrance.

Walking inside, visitors will be charmed by the high beamed ceilings, the marvelous brown woods throughout the dining room, the sconce and chandelier lighting and the enticing smell from the stone ovens and grills. On the opposite wall of the entrance are large windows providing a scenic view of the lake and more of the grounds that make the property what it is – wonderfully gorgeous.

Whether it’s the first time entering The Bistro or the 100th time, the feeling of entering somewhere genuinely special is always the same every time.

It’s All About the Food

The menu at The Bistro offers, antipasti, steaks, pasta, an array of entrees, pizza, contorni, insalates (salads), and desserts. Families will also be thrilled with the children’s menu. There is also an extensive wine list and specialty cocktail list.

The menu is long and detailed and is focused on upscale Italian fare. They also offer unique seasonal dishes and cocktails. Presentation is everything and guests can count on every meal selection to be plated perfectly.

A few of the favorites from the Antipasti selection include the GV Artisan Piatti, an artisan selection of meats and cheeses, or try the house made pierogies filled with potato and muenster cheese and topped with caramelized onions and herb butter.

Salads at The Bistro are a work of art especially the Gervasi Caesar with romaine hearts, pecorino crackers, and white anchovy.

Diners will salivate over the list of entrees. The selection includes a few favorites such as the Tuscan Beef Short Ribs with GV mashed potatoes and young carrots, all topped with mushroom veal sauce.

It is a must-do to try the Italian Chicken Napoleon. It is loaded with roasted peppers, artichokes, tomato jam, provolone, basil, parmesan risotto and topped off with a mouth-watering tomato vodka sauce.

The pasta favorites include the Seafood Chitarra with shrimp, seared scallops, arugula, cherry tomatoes, garlic oil and parmesan cheese. Other options include Chicken Piccata with angel hair pasta, garlic oil, arugula, tomatoes, and lemon caper cream.

Take a look through the pizza menu to find the Prosciutto Fig Pizza. It starts with fresh ricotta and parmesan and is loaded with, asparagus, pine nuts, garlic cream sauce and an amazing fig drizzle.

The evening is generally not finished until the dessert is served and devoured. GV’s famous Tiramisu is covered in shaved chocolate and is a must-have to finish the evening.

The Bistro’s Winter Features include a Lobster Spaghetti and Black Truffle Spaghetti. GV will also be offering a Venetian Duck dish which will feature confit duck leg, seared duck breast, grilled polenta, braised Tuscan black kale, and topped with grape vin santo sauce.
